Jerome E. Gibbons

Life’s Reflections on Jerome Edward Gibbons Jerome Edward Gibbons, son of the late Sarah Hurley Gibbons and Forreston Gibbons, was born March 16, 1950 in Washington, DC and departed this life on November 5, 2016 in his home in Clinton, MD. Jerome was born and raised in DC, and attended DC public schools. Shortly after graduating from high school, Jerome married Katrina Deane (deceased) and continued growing his family. Jerome was an entrepreneur at heart from a very early age, exploring many ventures before settling down with work in the corporate arena. Jerome’s final employment was with Enterprise Car Rental for 16 years. Jerome had aspirations of developing an empire including Home Improvement, Auto Detailing, and Handyman Services. Jerome affectionately known as “Jerry” loved to laugh and have fun. He loved family, friends and good food. He also loved going on vacation, fishing, music, and dancing. Jerome leaves a great legacy of love to cherish, his loving wife of 26 years, Sedatrice Elizabeth Gibbons; a daughter, Ronda Evans; a son, Tyrone Gibbons (Ayoka), and his other children he welcomed by marriage that he grew to love fondly: Damone, Sherwin, Kip, and Nickia. Jerome had five siblings who preceded him in death, and a remaining sister, Harrolee Gibbons (MD), and a brother, Melvin Gibbons (DC). Additionally there were 16 grandchildren in total, Kaila, Tyrone (TJ), Denise, Devale, and Yavale of Tyrone Gibbons, and Angel of Ronda Evans who preceded her grandfather in death; and six great-grandchildren of which Meghan and Ry’leigh are of Tyrone Gibbons.
