AGNES CECELIA CHESLEYAgnes Cecelia Chesley was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 1, 2006. Agnes was a native of Clements, MD and a resident of Washington DC for over 50 years. Born August 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Francis Cornelius Carter and Mary Cornella Carter. Agnes was preceded in death by her late and devoted husband of 45 years, Walter Everett Chesley of Washington, DC.She is survived by 10 children, William E. of Upper Marlboro, MD, Walter T. of Eden Prairie,MN, Francis M. of Rockaway Township, NJ, Al C. of Washington, DC, Ellen C. of Clinton, MD, Jacqueline E. of Washington, DC, John K. of Alexandria, Va, Carolyn E. of Clinton, MD, Martin A. of Bakersfield, CA. and Delmar C. of Upper Marlboro,MD. She is also survived by daughters-in-law, Sharon Chesley, Dawn Chesley, Towana Chesley, Lisa Chesley and Erika Chesley; 14 grandchildren; an aunt, Bernice Barbour; four sisters, Mary Madeline Davis, Helen Elizabeth Davis, Anna Geraldine Tyer, Frances Alberta Jenifer and two brothers Raymond Matthew Carter, and Thomas Theodore Carter, all of whom reside in Clements, MD. Two brothers preceded her in death, James A. Carter and George A. Carter.Agnes was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Washington, DC. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, attending church and participating in church-sponsored social activities. Agnes cultivated many lasting friendships over her lifetime.
