Agnes Russell Stedman (Age 82)Agnes Russell Stedman, 82, of Chesapeake Beach, MD, died on Thursday, November 6, 2003, in Conyers, Georgia. Agnes was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 3, 1921. Agnes will be remembered for her great sense of humor and determination to rise above adversity. She always kept the door open for her family and friends.Agnes worked joyfully at the Sears in Bethesda, MD for over 20 years and retired for health reasons at the age of 74. She loved her co-workers like family. Over the years, she served in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary, the Breezy Point Citizens Association, and various community activities with dedication.Agnes is preceded in death by her husband, Morris George Stedman. Agnes is the beloved mother of Toni Stone and husband John, George Steven Stedman and Lee Ann Stedman and the late Barbara Leigh Van Buren and David Russell Stedman; and grandmother of Robin Van Buren Lockwood and husband Dave, Melissa Wilson, Bethany, Kathleen, Michael, Joseph, Dylan, Jack, Mariah, Russell, and Madeline Stedman, Larry, Sheila, Bobby, and Frank Ferriel, and Travis Hunter; great-grandmother of Emily, Allison, David, Sarah and Christian Lockwood, Abigail, Susie, Travis Jr., and Jonah Hunter, Wayne and Darrell Fisher, Dallas Penn, Brook, Breanne, Rachel, Latasha and Allysa Ferriel.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, 5020 Battery Lane, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.
