Alice K. Lipton passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 31, 2021, New Years Eve, at Kris Leigh Assisted Living in Severna Park, MD. She had no illnesses and simply died as a result of her extended age. She was happily married to her Husband, Samuel Wayne Lipton (deceased June 13, 2011), for 65 years. Alice was born in St. David, NE, where she grew up on a farm and was the second oldest of 12 children. Upon graduation from high school, she attended Business School near her home town of Brainard, NE. During World War II she accepted an exciting new opportunity to travel across the country to Washington, DC and work at the Pentagon. Here she met her husband Sam (US Navy) at a USO dance and dance they did for the many years of their marriage. Alice and Sam lived in Clinton, MD after their retirement. She worked with the elderly at a home near Southern Maryland Hospital during her seventies and eighties and was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church Senior Lunch Bunch Ladies Auxiliary. Alice was the loving mother of Chet T. (Nika) Lipton, Susan (Thomas) Sendlewski and Roger (Cathy) Lipton; four grandchildren, Eric Lipton, Emily (Lipton) Kendall, Samantha (Sendlewski) Banyar and Blake Lipton and seven great-grandchildren. Family will receive guests at Lee Funeral Home, 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, MD on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with a service following at 12:00. Interment will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, MD 20735 at 1:30 p.m. Masses in her memory are sincerely appreciated. Flowers are welcome and donations in her name to Save the Bay and American Heart Association.
