Allen August Yurek

On Sunday, October 15th 2017 Allen August Yurek, 96, of Fairfax, VA passed away.Born on August 21, 1921 in Baltimore, MD to the late Frank and Ida Yurek. He was a great guy who lived a fabulous life. He wore many hats in his lifetime: Dedicated Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, WW II Vet, Cold war Veteran, Antarctic engineer and explorer on the 1958 International Geophysical Year expedition, Inventor with several patents, musician, senior level federal employee, active with the VFW and American Legion - and this list could go on for a long time.Allen is predeceased by his Wife, Irma, his brothers, George and Frank Yurek, and his sister, Helen Muir (Yurek). Allen is survived by his three children, Allen L. Yurek, Linda Eunpu (Steve), and Joyce Sebastian; his brother, Phillip Yurek; five grandchildren, Christopher Yurek, Alexander Kroeger, Megan Eunpu, Julianne Massoni, and McKenzie Eunpu; and two great-grandchildren, Karina Kroeger, and Emily Kroeger. Also, his good friend, Deanie Fairfax. Allen had a positive outlook to everyone he met and for everything he did. He will be missed forever.
