Alyson Michelle Purvis "Aly" (Age 17)On Monday, November 5, 2007, Alyson Michelle Purvis, 17, died at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick, MD. Aly was born on October 16, 1990 at Greater Southeast Hospital in Washington, D.C. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Susan Purvis, sister, Emma Margaret; and grandparents, Lorna Jesse Purvis of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, Gail Jones of Dallas, Texas and Joseph Edward Jones, Jr. of Arlington, Virginia.Aly is predeceased by her brother, Ryan Jesse Purvis and grandfather, George Nicholas Purvis, Jr.Aly spent her childhood in Upper Marlboro, MD before moving to Chesapeake Beach, MD three years ago. Before moving to Calvert County, Aly with her brother Ryan, attended Awana at Fellowship Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, MD. She also participated in the Marlton Rec. & Swim Club where she loved to swim. She also enjoyed being a girl scout and playing soccer for the Marlton Boys and Girls Club. Aly was a senior at Northern High School in Owings, MD. She was a member of the Northern High Swim Team. Her other high school activities included being a member of the NJ-ROTC and the NHS Theater Program. She will be most known for her impromptu story telling abilities, for her love for music, talking and texting friends and driving. Most recently, Aly worked for Sneads Hardware in Owings as a cashier.Family will receive friends at the LEE FUNERAL HOME CALVERT, P.A., 8125 Southern Maryland Blvd. (Rte 4 & Fowler Rd.) Owings, MD on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm & 6 to 9 pm. Service will be held at Chesapeake Church, 6201 Solomons Island Rd., Huntingtown, MD on Thursday, November 15th at 11 am. Interment Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens, Port Republic, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "Stommel Enterprises, Inc.
