Anita Ruth Spicer passed of natural causes in the early morning January 26th 2017. Anita was born on May 18, 1925 and lived a long and happy life with devotion to her family and her Catholic faith. Anita was the wife of James F. Spicer (DC Police Captain and WWII Veteran) for 62 years. She spent her life as homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. Anita’s personality was one of love and charity always thinking of the welfare of others and the grace of God before her own needs and desires. She would allow the world around her to happen as it may and enjoy the benefits of time with family as a blessing from God. Her family always looked upon her with admiration for the role she played. Her children and grandchildren always felt beloved regardless of any shortcomings in their lives as Anita would look straight passed any faults with nothing but love in her heart. Anita was a true example of a women with open arms and a heart filled with joy. We would hear her speak one of her favorite phrases “God is good to us” in almost any situation life presented. Through good times and bad Anita would always look to the Lord with thanks and praise. Anita was also a devout member of the Mount Calvary Sodality Group, and active member in the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, as well as an avid stamp collector. Anita also took great pride in living the simple life with the belief that family was all the riches she needed in the world. Anita is preceded in death by her mother Anna, father Ralph, loving husband James, and three sons Jimmy, Stephen and Mark. Anita is survived by her son Michael and 4 grandchildren, Aaron, Shannon, Ashlee and Stephanie. Anita will be missed by all and remembered with grace.
