Upper Marlboro

Anna "Rena" Caterina Brzozowski, 94, the proud mother of 6 daughters, of Upper Marlboro, MD passed away August 22, 2023.

Rena was born March 13, 1929 to the late Vito and Maria Innamorato in Brooklyn, NY. Before her illness and the death of her beloved Ed, she was an active member of the Mount Calvary Catholic Church. Rena was a member of the Ladies of Charity, Sodality, the Drama Club, the Church choir, and a supporter of the Knights of Columbus, as well as being a proud homemaker and mother. She was an Auxiliary Member of the Legion of Mary. Rena had a strong love and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. As the Matriarch of a large Catholic family, she encouraged them to practice their faith and to pray the Rosary daily. Praying the Rosary daily and listening to ETWN was her joy. She loved working jigsaw puzzles and Sudoku. She was an avid Slot Machine Queen, enjoyed going to MGM and Bally’s Casino in Dover, Delaware. She was a seamstress and a great cook of Italian and Polish food. Rena was always proud to tell everyone that she was from an Italian family and that she was 94 years old. She loved going to Ocean City and sitting on the balcony watching the people on the boardwalk. She always enjoyed her Baily’s Irish Cream, Amaretto and O’Doul’s. In her younger days she enjoyed duck pin bowling, ceramics, travelling and dancing; as well as hosting great 4 th of July picnics.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund “Ed” Brzozowski, daughter, Christine, and her beloved Sisters (Fontina and Antoinette) and Brothers (Danny and Frank).

She leaves to cherish her memory to her 5 living children, Karen (Charles) Mullarkey, Joleen (Frank) Bottalico, Eileen (Danny) Mavilia, Patricia (Steve) Bryant, and Alysia (Kevin) Kreider. She was a cherished Nonna/Renie to 15 Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great Great Grandchildren.

Rena lived a great faithful long life. She will surely be missed. Mamma Mia was her famous saying.
