Anna Marie McGhee

Anna Marie (Smith) McGhee, 79, of Calvert County, MD, passed away on February 24, 2023. She was surrounded by her loved ones at her home when she passed.

Anna was born July 18, 1943 to Zachary and May Smith in Washington, DC. Her sisters are (predeceased) Dorothy Hoffman (Fred), (surviving) Grace McCarthy (Ken Costello), and Jean (Larry) Nelson. She was married to the late Fred McGhee. Her daughters are Carolyn Sherwood (late husband Arthur), Tammie Skinner (Henry) and Brenda Richardson (Michael).  She has 10 grandchildren: Charles Hood (Heather), Matthew Whiteman (Samantha), Zachary Whiteman, Arthur IV Sherwood (Nicole), Brianna Lewis, Sarah Whiteman, Adeline Richardson, Chloe Richardson, Henry Skinner and Stephanie Richardson. And 8 great grandchildren: Gavin Hood, Issabelle Hood, Abel Whiteman, Raylan Whiteman, Christopher Clark/Sherwood, Scarlett Sherwood, Archer Whiteman and Maizie Sherwood.

Anna loved her animals, coffee parties and sweets. She enjoyed music of all sorts and generations. She loved her family and dedicated her life to them.

The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm where a Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery 11301 Crain Highway Cheltenham, MD 20623.
