Anna Lee Craft Tucker

On Thursday, June 30, 2022, Anna Lee Craft Tucker of Clinton, MD passed away peacefully at the age of
92 surrounded by her loving family. Anna Lee was born in Crumpler, West Virginia on August 9th, 1929
to John Simmons Craft and Annie Eliza Pearl McBride Craft.
Anna grew up in West Virginia and moved to Washington, DC where she met and married her beloved
husband Preston Tucker. She went to work as an Executive Secretary for the Department of Agriculture,
where she was proud to serve for over 30 years.
Anna was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend to
many. Her twin sons Kim and Mike were her pride and joy and always brought a smile to her face.
Anna enjoyed singing in her church choir, drawing, and bowling. She was an excellent cook, known by
everyone for her homemade pizza. She also enjoyed playing Santa at the local McDonald’s in Clinton,
MD for many years. Additionally, she hosted parties every Christmas Eve at her own house for her
friends, relatives, and many neighbors. She loved life and her house was always open to anyone.
Anna was loved and admired by many for her sense of humor, and her loving and appreciative spirit.
Anna is survived by her sons Kim Tucker (Lucy) and Mike Tucker (Gale); sister Betty Zalovick;
grandchildren Amber Jennings (Steve), Wayne Tucker (Shannon), and Michael Tucker (Vickie); and great
grandchildren Brayden, Emma, and Ryder, and devoted friend Sheila Holmes. In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by her husband Preston Robey Tucker, brothers: Woodrow Craft, Oliver
Craft, and Eddie Craft, and sisters: Ruby Simmons and Nanny Lawless.
For the last three years Anna Lee was lovingly cared for at Beulah Spring Assisted Living by Regina Ekong.
From the very first day Regina loved and looked after her as if she were her own mother.
The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, MD on Friday, July 8th, 2022 from 10am
until 12pm followed by a service in the chapel. Interment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in
Cheltenham will be private and held at a later date.
