Arlene Yvonne Waddell

Arlene Yvonne Waddell, 69, of Accokeek, Maryland, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in the District of Columbia. Born on September 23, 1946 to the late Saul Dawson and Mildred Dawson, Arlene spent her youth in Alabama and New York and attended New York University. She then went on to have a very successful career with the Department of the Navy as a Security Specialist until she retired in 2011. On April, 26, 2005, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Eugene Waddell, Sr. after nearly 40 years of marriage. She is survived by her two sons, Adrian Brent Waddell and Frederick Eugene Waddell, Jr.; by her grandson, Justice; and by her fiancé, Vincent Turner. Arlene had a generous soul, outgoing personality, razor-sharp wit, and loved to dance. She was not bashful in telling friends that she had places to go, people to see, things to do, and missions to accomplish. She was loved by many and her vast influence will forever be cherished in the lives of all who knew her. Arlene’s relationship with the Lord was strong and guided her in life. Having done His will here on earth she has passed forward peacefully to continue to do His will in Heaven.
