Artemio Montoya “Teming” Reyes, 90, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 in Sunrise, Florida. Artemio was married to Consolacion “Bennie”, who has since passed in 2015.
At this time, there will not be any funeral services. Artemio will be laid to rest at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in Maryland.
Artemio was born in the Philippines to Patricio and Purificacion on October 3, 1933. He is a retired chef in the U.S. Navy after 20 years. He worked as a photographer for the Department of Defense. He worked as a chef at NASA for NASA Administrator Daniel S. Goldin. He was also past President of PAFAI (Progressive Alliance of Filipino Americans, Inc.). He was very active in the Masonic Lodge of Camp Springs and served as a Tyler. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Kena Temple. He was the founding member and first President of the Travelers of the Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter. After leaving Maryland in 2019, he relocated to Florida where he enjoyed family time and visits to the casino. He enjoyed his daily ride around the lake next to his apartment on his red scooter!
Artemio is survived by his children, Melquiades (Rosemarie) in Florida, Art in Maryland, Constance (Hokyun) in Maryland, and Deanna (Christopher) in Maryland. His grandchildren, Melanie (Maico), Jonathan (Nicole), Michael (Aimee), predeceased Samantha (Virgil), Melissa, Eliza, Erik, Andrew, Matthew, Mia, Reyna and Analise. His great grandchildren, Mikey, Bella, Milo, Mikolas, Lena, Olivia and Emiliana.
