Audrey Louise Harris Grogan-Stancell, 75, daughter of the late Daniel R. and Ruth K. Harris, was born November 14, 1939 in Chapel Maryland. At an early age, she joined Asbury United Methodist Church in Easton, Maryland. She continued to be supportive of her home church throughout the years. She graduated from Moton High School in Easton, Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduation, she worked as a substitute teacher in Easton, Maryland until she moved to Washington, DC. She began her career working for the District of Columbia government. In June 1964 she married Daniel J. Grogan. From that union came two sons: Darryl James Grogan and David Jeffery Grogan were born. The marriage later ended in divorce. She married James Earl Stancell in July 1978. He had a son, Mark Anthony Stancell, from a previous Marriage. He passed away in October 2012. She retired from the Department of the treasury in 1997 after 33 years of service. After retirement, she volunteered at Greater Southeast Community Hospital for several years before becoming an employee there. She worked in the Volunteer Office at the hospital until 2004. Audrey was a member of the Morton High School Alumni Association, the Morgan State University Alumni Association, and the Department of the Treasury Historifcal Association. She was very devoted to her family, and got great pleasure in helping others. She loved to bake for special occasions, and was known for her cookies and strawberry cake. Audrey leaves to cherish her memories her sons; Darryl (Nichole) and David Grogan, and stepson; Mark (Vyda); brother, Donald Harris; grandchildren, Davineen, Dawson, and Daden Grogan, and Marque and Jordan Stancell, a brother, Donald R. Harris; nephew, Daniel M. Harris, four great nieces, three great nephews, and a loyal grand-dog, Heaven George.
