Barbara "Bobby" Louise Ford departed this life on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at her home in Fort Washington, MD. At an early age, she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and was a faithful servant until her day of eternal rest. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Mt. Ennon Baptist Church, 9832 Piscataway Road, Clinton, MD 20735. Burial will follow the next week in Florence. Mrs. Ford was born February 14, 1939, in Florence, AL, to Eugene Barnett and Ora Mae Noel Barnett. She graduated from Burrell Lee High School in 1956, where she was crowned "Miss Burrell" during her senior year. Soon after completing her studies at the "Technical Secretary School" in Florence, she relocated to Washington, DC, where she began a successful career in the Federal Government with the Department of Agriculture. Barbara was highly intelligent and a very successful career woman, breaking barriers with her professional achievements, while never wavering in her support to her family, dedication to her church, and the various choirs she sung in for many years. Preceded in death by her loving parents, Eugene Barnett, Ora Mae Barnett Winborn (Jones "Bush" Winborn", brother Douglas O'Neal Winborn, sister Minnie Lee Thompson, and granddaughter Corinne Eades. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 48 years, Walter L. Ford Jr.; three children Deborah, Barbara, and Wille; two stepsons Gregory and Anthony; one brother John "Dee" Reeder (Ada), nine grandchildren David, Kristine(D'mitri), Geralisa, Carla, Kendra, Gerald, William, RObert and Dominique; ten great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
