Barbara Theresa Ottley was born in 1930 in the Bronx, NY, the daughter of William and Cecilia Ottley. She attended the all girls Walton High School Class of 1949. In 1952, she married her life partner Allan O. Hare, Sr. In 1953, they moved to Washington, DC where Allan was employed with the Photographic Services Division for the US Army at the Pentagon. Between 1951 and 1955 Barbara worked part-time as a clerk typist and bookkeeper. In 1953 Barbara & Allan lost their first child Gregory soon after birth. In 1955 Allan O. Hare, Jr. was born. In 1956 now a full time homemaker Deborah Hare was born. In 1962 Anthony J. Hare was born. In 1963 they moved into what would be their lifetime home in Peppermill Village in Maryland. As a wife and mother Barbara enjoyed and managed the family household. She loved to go bowling and enjoyed several leagues with many teammate relationships over the years. She loved to nurture others, especially, her furry friends, birds or cats that were hungry or suffering, and she enjoyed the entertainment world of TV soap operas and movies. Barbara Theresa Hare of Peppermill Village in Maryland left this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Allan O’Connor Hare, Sr.; Devoted mother of Allan O’Connor Hare, Jr (Peggy) of Bowie, MD, Deborah Hare of Orange, CA, and the late Anthony J. Hare; Loving grandmother of Aaron, Darron, Ashley, Carl, Joseph, Ian and Michele; dear great-grandmother of Brandon, Khyla, Kobe, Brantlee, Kalani, Zamarley and Zane.
