Barbara Ann McAlpine

Barbara Ann McAlpine “Bobbie”, 74, of Owings, MD passed away on April 14, 2022 in Huntingtown, MD. Barbara was born on August 8, 1947 to Mae Louise Rollins and Clovis D. Eads in Washington, D.C.  She was a loving mother to Michael W. Fortner, Jennifer L. Post, Lisa M. Whittington, Brian J. McAlpine and sister to Carolyn D. McConkey. Barbara is also survived by her 9 grandchildren; Zachary Post, Jillian Fortner, Jeremy Fortner, Gavin Whittington, Sophia  Post, Brody Whittington, Stella  Post, Brooke Whittington, Jacob Fortner and 1 future great granddaughter to be named Lilith Post, due in July. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Deborah L. Shockley and her husband Paul McAlpine. 

Barbara was raised in Morningside, MD. She graduated from Suitland High School in 1965. Following graduation, she was employed as an Office Manager for the Federal Government from which she retired.

Barbara enjoyed shopping, watching her favorite TV show, “Dexter” and cooking her famous dishes; greens, shrimp salad, and pumpkin bread. Most of all Barbara always cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

At Barbara’s request, a private celebration will be held in her honor.
