Bernard "Bernie" Gabriel Tydings, Jr.

Bernard Gabriel Tydings, Jr., of Huntingtown, MD (formerly of Beltsville, MD) gained his heavenly reward during the early morning hours of August 3, 2023, just a day shy of his eighty-first birthday.  He showed much courage and hope during his long illness.  His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his spirit will forever live on in the cherished memories he leaves behind.

Bernie loved his family and friends; always visiting and catching up on the latest.  Polishing his car, driving about, and listening to Elvis were his favorite pastimes.

He was the beloved son of the late Bernard Gabriel Tydings, Sr. and Marian Elizabeth Tydings (Walker).

Bernie is survived by his sons, William R. Tydings (Victoria) and Randolph B. Tydings (Carol); grandsons Douglas, David, Tommy, Randy Jr., and Christopher; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Bette Wilcoxen (Jack); loving nieces Jill Floria (Chris), Rebecca Moffatt (Kyle), and Kelly Wilcoxen; devoted cousins Mary Ellen Emory and Dick Tydings; and many other loving family and friends, including his extended family at Calvert County Nursing Center.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bernie’s life at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm where a Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment following at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Rd, Brentwood, MD 20722.
