Bernard George III (Tre’ Dog), of Fort Washington, MD, passed away
peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2023. Bernard was born March 19, 1976,
in Washington DC to Natika Saunders George and the late Bernard George, Jr.
Bernard accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Ennon Baptist Church in
Clinton, Maryland. He was an active member of the youth Usher Board
and Youth Choir. Bernard loved to bowl, which he began at the age of
5. He earned 3 rings for bowling 3 perfect games. Bernard’s yearly
bowling tournament travels took him to places including Rochester,
New York, Cincinnati, Ohio, Williamsburg, VA, Greenville, Statesville
and Mooresville, NC, Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada and Hanover, PA.
Bernard was also an avid fan of the Washington Commanders and the San Antonio Spurs.
Bernard graduated from Friendly Senior High School in 1994, where he
played football. He attended Delaware State University, where he met
Kendall Jayvelle Lanford. They were united in holy matrimony on September 20, 2003.
Bernard spent most of his career in the banking industry. He was
employed with First VA Bank of MD, NIH Federal Credit Union, Old Line, M&T, Sun Trust and Presidential Bank.
Bernard was preceded in death by his father, grandparents Bernard and
Alberta George and William and Florence Saunders.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Kendall; devoted mother, Natika
George; mother-in-law Luvenia Lanford; great aunt, Doris Parrish; aunts
Edith Saunders, Tracy Mack (Richard), Minnie Saunders, Thelma
Coleman, Laura George Crear, Celestine George; uncles Michael
Saunders (Francine), Reginald Saunders (Renee), Lloyd George, Sr,
Reginald George; cousins William Saunders (Nina), Stephanie Saunders, Teresa Saunders, Lynette Rice (Ricky), Angel Hayes (Donald), Victoria Middleton (Kenneth), Brittney Saunders, Monique Mack, Richard Mack,
III (Kate), Taylor Mack, Sydney Mack, Morell Coleman, Jordan Crear,
Justin Crear, Constance George, Lloyd George, Jr; God Father Frederick
Rigney; dear friends Wesley and Janet Foust; and a host of friends.
Family and friends are welcome to gather at Lee Funeral Home, Inc.
6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Rd, Clinton MD on Friday, May 12, 2023,
from 10am to 12pm with funeral services beginning at 12pm. Burial will
take place at Heritage Memorial Cemetery in Waldorf, MD.
