Bernice McNeelyBernice leaves to cherish her memory her one and only much loved daughter, Tammie McNeely; two brothers, Willie Jones and Harvey Jones; one sister, Lucile Brown of Courtland, Virginia; four brother -in-laws, George R. Brown, Larry McNeely, Waymon Mosley of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Kief McNeely; eight sister-in-laws, Maxine Jones, Iris Jones, Louise Cobham, Gloria Mims, Hattie Bellinger, Gail McNeely-Johnson,Taisha McNeely,Tikeya McNeely-Alvarez, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whom she cared so very much for.Bernice McNeely, aka "Tweety Bird". was born June 22, 1946 in South Hamton County, Virginia to the late Nathaniel Jones and Lucy Parker. She graduated from Riverview High School in Courtland, Virginia on June 7, 1968. Bernice moved to Washington, DC in 1969 where she met and married Tommie L. McNeely. Bernice and Tommie had one child from their union.Bernice worked for K-Mart for more than twenty years and then went to work at Wal-Mart as a Department Manager in September 2000. She was afffectionately nicknamed "Tweety Bird by herco-workers.Bernice went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 26, 2008.
