Bernice W. Watlington, daughter of the late Urserline Ware, was born August 8, 1926 in Washington, DC. On (day), (date) she departed this life. She was preceded in death by her late husband of twenty-seven years, James N. Watlington, sons Robert Ware and James Ware.
Bernice was educated in the District of Columbia public school system. She retired from the Department of Health and Human Services in 1981 after thirty-eight years of service. She received many awards, certificates and accolades for distinguish service.
In later years she traveled overseas with her husband; and upon her return to the United States she started a second career in the private sector with Kaiser Permanente. She was also a Red Cross volunteer for many years.
In October 2002, Bernice joined the Lutheran Church of Oxon Hill, Oxon Hill, MD. by baptism.
Bernice enjoyed bowling, traveling, playing bridge, cooking and going to the casinos.
She was a very outgoing person and loved to entertain family and friends. She enjoyed watching everyone eat good food until they nearly burst.
We thank God for her life. Her memory will be held dear by her family and many friends. She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Matthew, Carl, Angela, Audrey, Tonya and James Ware, Jr.
