Bessie Ann Wilkerson Carroll

Bessie Ann Carroll, 88 of Hillcrest Heights, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home April 2, 2016. She was born on July 14, 1927 in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Cora Wilkerson. Bessie started her career at the Federal Census Bureau in Suitland, Maryland. In addition, she worked for McBrides on 8th & H Street, N.E., Washington, D.C., before retiring after 27 years from Wah Sing Restaurant on Pennsylvania Ave S.E., Washington, D.C. Bessie made many memorable friends over the years. Bessie was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Allison Smith; two sisters, Cora Casswell and Edna Morris; one brother, Alfred Wilkerson. Bessie is survived by her daughters, Annette Chaney, Pam Cleveland (Skip), Maryann Carroll and Crystal Fitzgerald; sons Robert Carroll (Martha), Mike Carroll (Cindy), John Carroll (Diana), Randy Carroll (Robin), Billy Carroll and Francis Brocato, Jr., many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
