Betty McCune Tutwiler, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family in Prince Frederick on November 11, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Vernon Coiner McCune and Lettie Virginia (Sanger) McCune of Fishersville, VA. Betty was the loving wife of Floyd Elwood Tutwiler for 69 years. She raised and loved her 5 children.
Betty was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School. She continued her education receiving a nursing degree and worked at King’s Daughter Hospital in Staunton, VA as well as for several doctors in Maryland. She volunteered many years at her churches and at Calvert Hospital. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing in the church choir.
Betty loved planning and being involved in large family events. She enjoyed camping and being on the water fishing with her husband. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was extremely caring, compassionate, giving and kind. She was loved by all.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tut; her children Pat Bauer, Tom Tutwiler and wife Tia, Donna Bowling and husband Rex, Tim Tutwiler, Tony Tutwiler and wife Suzanne; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Lettie McCune and siblings; Joyce Davis, Marie Ellinger and Bobby McCune.

Visitations will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022, with a memorial service following at 12 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736
