Betty Ruth Aranda

Aranda, Betty Ruth Biggs - age 76. born October 22, 1936 in Beckley, West Virginia to Hobert Biggs, Goldie Goff. Graduated from Mark Twain High School, Sophia West Virginia, Vice President of the school Newspaper staff Journalism class of 1954 She Married Juan Aranda in Washington, D.C. on October 20, 1956 and had three children, Maria Teresa, Juan Antonio and Luis Arturo Aranda. Retired from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, in Washington, D.C. after 29 years. Served as secretary to 5 IBT Presidents: James R. Hoffa, Frank E. Fitzsimmons, William J. McCarthy, Roy L. williams and Jackie Presser. Betty leaves behind her Husband of 56 years, Juan Aranda, daughter Maria Klein & Herbert Klein, sons Juan Aranda & Janet Aranda and Luis Aranda & Marsha Aranda,: with 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Jillian, Natalie, Allie, Meghan, Tony and Johnny; and great-grandchildren Bella (age 2) and Genevieve (due in August 2013.) Betty passed away peacefully at her home in Sunderland, Md. in the early morning of June 5, 2013, after battling a sudden and aggressive lung cancer. She was surrounded by her loving and heartbroken family when she passed. Betty will be dearly loved and missed, but never forgotten. Her kindness, laughter and sense of humor remains in our hearts along with all of our many beloved memories of her. Funeral arrangements being handled by Lee Funeral Home in Owings, Md. On Saturday, June 8th with two viewings scheduled from 2:pm - 4:00pm, and 6:00pm - 8:00pm. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church, North Beach, Md. at 10:00 am on Monday, June 10, 2013.Internment will take place afterward at the Cemetary of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Prince Frederick, Md.
