Betty spent her early life in Bluefield, WV where she graduated from Beaver High School in 1954. Soon after, she married the love of her life, Joseph, in January of 1957 in District Heights, MD. They then began their journey living in many different locations; eventually settling in Forestville, MD. After more than 30 years at their home on Benson Lane and valiantly serving alongside their friends with the Church of the Holy Spirit, they moved to St. Leonard, MD. Regardless of where she lived, her love and compassion for others always made each of these places home.
Betty found enjoyment in baking and cooking, she was specifically passionate about feeding friends, family, and those in need. Her chocolate cookies and barbeque were famous at family gatherings and special occasions. At the end of the day, friends and family were the most important. Over the years, she worked tirelessly for her community, serving with many organizations such as Forestville Pregnancy Center, Forestville League of Christian Kindness, Meals on Wheels, and Safe Nights of Calvert County. She was always there to support family, friends, and strangers; her door was always open.
