With deep love and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Bobbie Jean Kelly, who departed this life on February 5, 2025, at the age of 87. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, teacher, mentor, and pillar of her community.
Born on September 24, 1937, Bobbie Jean dedicated her life to education, shaping young minds as a teacher and mentor. She extended her passion beyond the classroom, serving as a summer track coach and playing an active role in the Blackshear Reunion Committee. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she was honored to serve as Mother of the Church at Greater Refuge Ministries in Clinton, MD, where she was a source of wisdom, strength, and love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nathaniel Henry Kelly Sr., as well as her children Nathaniel Kelly Jr. and John Melvin Kelly, and her siblings Doris Wade and Helen Owens.
Bobbie Jean leaves behind a loving family, including her children Freddie Kelly, Jeffery Kelly, and Lori Kelly, and her siblings Mae Clark and Carl Wade. She is also survived by a host of family members, including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will continue to carry her love and legacy forward.
Services:
A viewing will be held in Clinton, MD on February 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Lee Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Maryland.
