Bonnie Sue Horan, 77, of Huntingtown, MD, passed away January 8, 2021 at the Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center. Bonnie was born in 1943 in Helen, WV and raised in Beckley, WV by her parents, Clyde and Cova Farmer. Upon graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, WV, in 1960, she moved to Washington, DC to take a position with the U.S. Coast Guard. She met and married Gerald “Jerry” Horan, Sr, in November 1961. After moving to Calvert County, MD she worked at Truman Lumber Company for several years and then the Calvert County Nursing Center for 33 years as the Assistant Administrator. After raising her family, she decided to attend college and graduated “Cum Laude” from the University of Maryland, earning her degree in Health Administration. Bonnie was full of life, always had a smile and a hug for everyone. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to travel, play slots and bowling with the “Hi Rollers”. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Gerald Horan, Sr., parents, Cova and Clyde Farmer and 2 brothers, Clyde Jr. and Mike Farmer and 2 sisters, Barbara Rabbitt and Mary Ellen Ables. She is survived by her children, Gerald Horan, Jr. and his wife Virginia Horan. Kathleen Horan and her husband Timothy Tillett, Sr., her sister Linda Martin, and grandchildren Gerald Horan, III, Angelina Horan, and Timothy Tillett, Jr. The family will receive friends at St. John Vianney Church, 105 Vianney Lane, Prince Frederick, MD 20678 on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Chesapeake Highlands Cemetery, 3270 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD 20676. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 105 Vianney Lane Prince Frederick, MD 20678 and please include "In Memory of Bonnie Sue Horan".
