Bonnie Lee Roberts of Clinton, MD passed away peacefully at home after a short illness, on December 8th, 2019 at the age of 93. Bonnie was born on April 13, 1926 in Riverton, WV to Marvin and Nina Ruddle. Bonnie was the eldest of seven children and helped raise her siblings. Growing up in the Great Depression in rural West Virginia was difficult, and after graduating high school, Bonnie moved to Washington, DC to find employment. There, she met and fell in love with Carl Eugene Roberts who was enlisted in the Navy, and they were married May 22nd, 1948. Bonnie stayed busy, working as an administrator at an insurance association and raising her four children. Bonnie’s greatest joy in life was her family, including the various pets she had over the years. She enjoyed listening to music, especially old-time country and bluegrass. Bonnie devoted all of her time and energy to supporting and loving her family and friends. Her warmth, gentleness, and kindness will be remembered by all who ever met her. Bonnie is lovingly survived by: her daughter Carol Solis and son-in-law Rey Solis, Sr., her daughter Nina Beth Roberts, and her son Carl Eugene “Gene” Roberts, Jr.; her grandchildren Rey Solis, Jr., Philip Solis, Mandy Ketchum and husband Joe Ketchum, and Kevin Roberts and wife Kimberly Roberts; and her great-grandchildren Dezman Harrell, Kealee Solis, Brayden Solis, Carter Solis, Chance Solis, Courtney Solis, Kylee Ketchum, Nathan Roberts, and McKenzie Roberts; and her siblings Jerry Ruddle, JoAnn Smith, and Morris Ruddle; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Marvin Ruddle, her mother Nina Ruddle, her husband Carl Roberts, her son Michael Eugene Roberts and daughter-in-law Sherry Palmer, her grandson Shawn Joseph Roberts, and her siblings Connie Roach, Bobby Jack Ruddle, and Harold “Babe” Ruddle.
