Brandon Christopher Epps was born in Washington, D.C. at Columbia Hospital for Women on January 20, 1989 to Mellanie R. Brooks and Jerrold Joyner. Brandon attended Prince George’s County Public Schools and later attended Job Corps where he received his high school diploma. After attending Job Corps, Brandon joined the United States Army in 2007 where he served as a water treatment specialist. After serving in the military Brandon worked as a laborer in Westminster, Maryland. In 2014, Brandon united with his fiancee, Heidi Kenyon. Brandon was a very determined, inquisitive, and endearing young man. He had an infectious smile that would light a room and enjoyed being the center of attention. Brandon loved spending time with family, reading, listening to music, playing the guitar, gaming, and enjoying the great outdoors. Despite life’s challenges, Brandon was a very determined and positive individual. He would often mentor young men and children. Brandon was always known for his faith, loving spirit, outspoken voice and warm personality. On May 4, 2021, Brandon obtained his wings and departed this life. He will forever be cherished in the lives of his parents, Mellanie R. Brooks (Gary) and Jerrold Joyner. Brandon also leaves to cherish his memories of his two younger brothers, Breon C. Taylor (Victoria) and Kemari R.Lifsey, one nephew, Mekhai J. Taylor, his grandparents, Ronald Epps (Laura), Bettye Joyner, and Ethel Lee Chow (deceased), one uncle, Jason Epps, his aunts, Allycin Epps, Victoria Epps, Bobbi Majors (Tiffany), Tai-Su Chow, and Koi Chow-Hamm (Royce) and devoted fiancee, Heidi Kenyon. Brandon will also be remembered by his godparents, Randy and Andrea Washington and a host of cousins, loved ones and friends.
