Maj. Brandon M. Ueki, USAF, was born in Portland, Oregon on May 15, 1983 and passed away on Friday Nov. 22, 2019. He was 36 and had been living in Arlington, Virginia. Brandon was a beloved son, brother, friend to many, and a combat veteran. He will be deeply missed. Raised in Southwest Portland, Brandon graduated from Valley Catholic High School in 2001 and went on to Boston University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering while completing Air Force ROTC. Upon graduating in 2005, he was commissioned into the US Air Force. During his 14-year military career, he completed two deployments, earned a Master’s degree in Strategic Security Studies from the National Defense University, and worked in the Joint Staff's AFPAK Hand Program at the Pentagon. Brandon was also an accomplished athlete with particular passion and talent for soccer and distance running. Anyone that knew Brandon, knew his passion for sports, the outdoors, a refreshing craft beer, but most of all for his friends and family. Wherever Brandon was, he easily endeared himself to those around him with his playful humor, enthusiasm for life, and eagerness to explore new places and try new activities. He is also remembered as a man of integrity, honor, and pride for his country. The loss of Brandon is a loss for many. Brandon is survived by his parents Gordon Ueki and Carla (Saulnier) Ueki, his sister Laura Ueki, and his cat Maui. A memorial service will be held at Valley Catholic High School in Beaverton
