Calvin “Lee” Jones passed away on Tuesday, May 31st, 2022, at the Virginia Hospital Center, in Arlington, Virginia. He was born on May 11th, 1949, in Washington, DC.
Son of William Jones & Bessie L. Smith, Calvin attended Washington, DC public schools. He worked at Flagg Brother’s shoe store for a while. Afterwards he worked for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for almost 40 years. Calvin met, and still had many friends from NIH.
Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers William Smith & Stanley Jones, and his sister Frankie Neal.
Calvin lived in Washington, DC for most of his life, until he met the love of his life, Angielle Ross. Calvin and Angielle were married on April 29th, 1995.
Calvin has traveled across the United States, & visited the Caribbean a couple of times. But his favorite past time was hanging out with family & friends.
Calvin is survived by: his wife Angielle Jones; brother & sisters - Gary Jones (Oxon Hill, MD), Darline Bell (Winston-Salem, NC), Regina Smith (Steve Mason) (Oxon Hill, MD); nephews - Gary Jones (Hanover, MD), Kedrick Hooks (Eisha) (Phoenix, AZ); grand-nieces - Chantel DeFlanders, Katiana Hooks & Xaela Hooks (Phoenix, AZ); & a host of cousins, & friends.
