Cathy A. Frieson

Cathy Ann Frieson was born on February 08,1957 at Freedman’s Hospital in Washington, DC, the second of three children born to Benjamin Frieson and Annie Mae Frieson. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Cathy transitioned to her heavenly home at the age of 65.

Cathy was educated in the DC Public school system receiving her diploma from Theodore Roosevelt High School. Cathy retired from the Internal Revenue Service but continued her work as a Certified Public Accountant until she was called home. Everyone knew her as their tax lady, with her larger-than-life personality and her big heart. Cathy was a tough cookie, she stood by what she believed in, but was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. She had a deep love for her family, pets and her hundreds of clients. She treated her clients to huge gatherings with tons of food and gifts every summer for years to show her appreciation and love for them. We will all miss her table full of assorted cakes and pies she baked for the holidays, she welcomed all to stop in and enjoy. She will be missed.

Cathy had a long battle with several health ailments. She pushed through many obstacles during this time but her strength and determination to keep going inspired many. Cathy is survived by her son, Tyrone Tucker, whom she raised and adored. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Isaiah Perry, Serenitee Perry, Nicholas Perry and Harmonee Perry, her loving dog Diva, a sister Barbara Weaks, her very special friend, James (Bo) Beasley and a host of extended relatives and friends. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Annie Mae Frieson and her sister, Doreatha Ferrell.
