Charles Edwin Bean, age 63 of Upper Marlboro, Maryland passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 at his home with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Debbie Bean, his children Katie Lakie and her husband Jim, Kevin Bean and Kristen Bean. His daughter Karla predeceased him. He is also survived by his grandson Patrick Lakie and 5 sisters. Mr. Bean lived in Upper Marlboro his entire life and retired from Prince George’s Public Schools in 2009 as an insulator mechanic. He was a lifetime member of Marlboro VFD, his last office serving as President but he also served the fire department in many other capacities. He was a lifetime member of Marlboro Moose Lodge 1856 and served as Past Governor. His hobbies included working with his “catering group” at Fed X Field supplying Tail Gating parties with fine food. He also played and coached softball for Marlboro VFD and PG Board of Education. Being quite handy, and known as one who could fix anything, he also enjoyed making furniture especially end tables, TV stands and built-ins. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lombardi Cancer Institute-Prostate and Bladder Research or the Marlboro VFD.
