Charles R. Gartrell

Charles R. Gartrell\nCharles R. Gartrell of Dunkirk, Maryland, passed away at his residence on September 30, 2011, at the age of 74.\n \nHe was born on June 30, 1937 in Washington D.C. to Claudius and Ena Gartrell.\n \n \nCharles is the beloved husband of Julia and loving father of Andrew Charles and Alan Clifford (Bianca) Gartrell. He is the brother of Margaret Janusz, Edward Gartrell, Nancy Cooney, Claudia Goldstein and Patricia Simone. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Gartrell.\n \n \nCharles was an active member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He and his wife, Julia enjoyed participating in mission trips with the church. Charles was fluent in Spanish and loved teaching English to people whose primary language was Spanish. In his spare time he enjoyed baking bread and cookies. His family also noted that he was forever fixing something.
