Charles J. Kiker, Sr. (Chief, USN-RET)On Friday, September 7, 2007, of Morningside, MD, ever loving husband of Joan M. Kiker. Proud father and mentor of David Lance Kiker, Patrick A. Kiker, Robert L. Kiker, and the late Charles J. Kiker, Jr, and Joan E. (Kiker) Hutchinson. Father-in-law of Marianne, Brenda and Jodie. Amazing grandfather of Robert OBrien, Tiffany Overton, Pamela Kiker-Kinter, Angela Malson, Corinne Kiker, Mandi Ehman, Angela Smith, Charles Hutchinson, Danielle Hutchinson, and Justin Hutchinson. Great grandfather of Derrick, Brittany, Wyatt, Summer, Ethan, Marin, Connor, Jack, Peyton, Dylan, Jordan and Elicia.Naval Veteran of WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War, Goddard SFC project team member OAO Satellite, Director of Logistics-US Naval Oceanographic Office, Former president of the Community Development Action Council, served 27 years as Vice Mayor Town of Morningside, first Police Chief Town of Morningside. Upon retirement- Bailiff, District Court of Maryland, current Commander American Legion Post 115- Upper Marlboro, member Maryland Chiefs of Police Association and the National Sheriffs Association. Interests included his family first, genealogy, naval history, aircraft, gardening and helping to make things better for others.Family will receive friends at the LEE FUNERAL HOME, INC. Branch Ave. & Coventry Way, Clinton, MD, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 p.m. where a service will be held on Thursday, September 13th at 11:30 am. Graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 11 am.
