Charles Warren Mentges

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles "Chuck" Warren Mentges, a beloved husband, friend, and dedicated member of the community, who peacefully departed this life on April 10, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on August 15, 1929, in Washington, DC, Charles lived a life full of passion and devotion in Owings, Maryland.

Charles was a proud and accomplished professional, serving as a Computer Administrator at NASA Goddard, where he made significant contributions to the field, reflecting his lifelong commitment to innovation and service. While Charles excelled in his career, it was his personal life that truly shone. He was a devoted husband to his beloved spouse, Donna Mentges, with whom he shared many joyful years.

In his free time, Charles embraced life fully, finding joy in a plethora of hobbies. He cherished the great outdoors and enjoyed camping adventures that allowed him to connect with nature. As an active member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion, he fostered strong friendships and contributed to his community. A man of varied interests, Charles loved riding his motorcycle, dancing, and sharing his musical talent as a DJ, bringing happiness and entertainment to those around him.

Charles’s presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit will live on through the memories cherished by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, laughter, and zest for life have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

Visitation will be held on April 16, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at Lee Funeral Home Cavlert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Charles's extraordinary life. He will be laid to rest in a burial ceremony, allowing us the opportunity to share our love and condolences as we say goodbye to a remarkable man.

In this time of mourning, let us remember Charles Warren Mentges not just for the dates of his life, but for the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the legacy he leaves behind.
