Charles Preston Schaffer

CHARLES PRESTON SCHAFFER (Age 86)Passed away at Georgetown University Hospital on May 8, 2007.He was native Washingtonian and was the retired owner of the Metropolitan News Agency. He served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne in WWII. He was awarded numerous decorations and citations including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Beloved husband of Christine Schaffer. He is also survived by two sons, James (Charlotte) and John (Kandys); one daughter, Kim (Dennis); six grandchildren, George, Kristie, Rick, Kari, Kyle and Sean and many special friends. Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 12 at LEE FUNERAL HOME, Branch Ave. and Coventry Way, Clinton, MD from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be held on Thursday, May 24, 1 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery with Military Honors.
