Chenoa Camryn Jones, 12 years of age, passed away due to sickle cell disease on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 2:08am at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Chenoa was born February 8, 2006 in Leonardtown, MD to Christopher and Alicia Jones and was the oldest of three children. Chenoa professed her life to Christ at the age of 11 at her church of nine years, The Holy Sanctuary, in Waldorf, MD. She was a member of the Youth Choir, Youth Usher Ministry, Circle of Praise Dancers and always participated on Youth Sunday as the liturgist. Chenoa was educated in Charles County, MD and was an excellent student. She completed her sixth grade year at John Hanson Middle School with a 3.83 GPA. Chenoa was an honor roll student throughout her education and earned multiple awards to include the President’s Award in 2017. She competed in the science fair in fifth grade and won first place at JP Ryon Elementary and second place at the county level for elementary chemistry. Chenoa was an extremely creative person who loved to try new things. She loved to draw, sculpt, write short stories, paint and loved Minecraft building. Chenoa was a member of the VEX Robotics Program at John Hanson Middle School and had the opportunity to complete at the county level with her teammates, Alana, Belinda, and Gabby. She was also a member of the John Hanson Middle School Patriots golf club and play the viola in their strings program. Chenoa was a fan of Japanese culture and loved to watch anima, read manga novels, and was teaching herself Japanese as she desired to one day visit Japan.
