Cheryl Lorraine Metts

Cheryl Lorraine Metts was born on 7/12/47 in Rhode Island at memorial hospital.

She is preceded in death by her parents Claude Bradford Metts and Willianna Marshall Metts.

Cheryl relocated to Petersburg, VA. From Rhode Island in 1960 at age 13 after her mother's passing. She resided with her maternal grandparents Alberta and Wille Jones.

She attended Southside High School in Dinwiddie County, VA. where she graduated in 1965. She attended Smith Madden Business College in Richmond, VA. She worked at the law firm of Sylvester Shepard, Petersburg, VA. in administration. In the early 70's, Cheryl decided to relocate to the DMV area. living in Maryland for a number of years before moving to Alexandria, VA. in 2007. She continued her career in administration employed with NTCA until her retirement in October of 2012.

She was a faithful member of Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church, Washington, D.C. for 25 years, also an active member in the adult choir. She loved God and her church, attending all church activities, anniversaries, and functions. Cheryl loved to travel especially vacation time at Myrtle Beach, SC, visiting with friends in September. She loved fashion and the finer things in life, an avid collector of designer bags and totes too many to count. Cheryl loved life and the people around her.

She leaves to cherish her memories: brother Keith Metts, cousins: James Stewart (Christine), Larry Stewart (Audrey), dedicated cousin Barbara Cox and a host of cousins.

Her extended family Vette Kinard (James) niece Cherisse, nephew Derrick. Supportive friends Rita Bolden and Tammie Logan, and many more friends.

Cheryl will be missed.
