Christopher McKay Ballard bounced into the lives of Cheryl B. and the late Caleb F. Ballard on June 29, 1975. He was always a very happy baby and as he grew, he brought much joy into the lives of others. Christopher touched everyone in the same manner. His love, goodness, kindness, mildness, warmth and generosity were felt by many. He was easy to please and eager to please. At a very tender age, Christopher came to know Jehovah God. He remembered Him and the promises of the Bible throughout his life. Christopher loved playing chess, hanging out with friends and, of course, watching the Redskins. The time spent with family was especially important to Christopher. He was a great listener and a deep thinker. With carpentry as his chosen trade, Christopher worked towards becoming a self-made man. He was an enthusiastic, hard worker who sought opportunities to work not only to sustain himself, but often for the sheer pleasure that he gained from seeing the fruits of his labor. He also enjoyed the praise, approval and attention that he would receive when a job was completed. His handy work can be seen in many homes in the Washington metropolitan area, as he was proficient in a number of the building and restoration trades. Christopher‘s strong work ethic came from his grandfather, Shirley D. Teague and his stepfather, William A. Greene. Christopher endured numerous trials and tribulations in his short life, and though he often made choices that did not reflect the course of wisdom, he nevertheless endeared himself to a great many who feel that he is gone far too soon. Christopher leaves behind to mourn him, his mother, Cheryl B. Greene; his stepfather, William A. Greene; his daughter, Chrishawna P. Marshall; his sister, Erin E. Greene; his brother, Daniel N. Greene; his aunts, Evangaline T. Boozer, Mena Young-Harris, Karen Greene, Linda Lee, Lottie Perro, Mary Madeoy; uncles Sam Greene, Joseph Harris and Lawrence Ballard; cousins JoAnn and James Turner, Jr., Maria, Charles, Carlton, Patrick Boozer, Robert Brown and the late George Brown, Melinda Davis, Matthew Greene, and numerous other relatives and friends.
