Christopher "Chris" A. Gibson

Christopher Alva “Chris” Gibson, Age 63 of Tracys Landing, MD passed away suddenly on February 28, 2022. Chris was born on October 2, 1958 in Washington, DC to the late Alva Clarence Gibson and the late Laura Guffee Gibson. Chris grew up in Clinton, MD and graduated from Surrattsville High School Class of 1976. Chris was a government contractor for 33 years as well as having his own successful home improvement business for 20+ years. Chris and his wife Cherie of 33 years built their life with two children in Tracys Landing, MD. Chris coached for the Deale Shorebirds for over 15 years to include basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball. His absolute proudest time was the Deale Dawgs Baseball and their championship team. Chris never had a player that he didn’t treat as family. Chris was a husband, father, son, brother and soon to be a grandfather and took great pride in his family. Many called him a mentor and second dad. Chris is survived by his wife Cherie, daughter Jordan Nicole Gibson, future son in law Richard Pickett, son Garrett Christopher Gibson, sister Terri (Dale) Kaiser, sister-in-law Michelle (Bob) Bernier, brother-in-law Wayne Stinson, brother-in-law Jimmy (Michelle) Stinson, and many nieces and nephew. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736. A Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on March 9, 2022 at 10:30 am. Interment immediately following at Southern Memorial Gardens Cemetery 10155 Ward Road, Dunkirk, MD 20754.
