Cindy Lou Melton

It is with great sadness that the family of Cindy Lou Baker Melton (Upper Marlboro, Md.) announce her sudden passing on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the age of 65. Cindy was born June 28, 1956 in Portsmouth, N.H. to the late James Baker Sr. and Calista Baker.

Cindy is survived by and will forever be remembered by her loving husband James Melton of 39 years. Children: Anissa Melton, Sonia Melton and Anthony Melton. Grandchildren: Chanel, Shayla, Julyssa, Janae, Brandi, Jamal, James, Michael, Dominique, Nevaeh, Aniyah, Olivia, Bryson, Sevyn, Kingston, Ashley, Derrick Jr. and Monte Jr. Great-Grandchildren: Talei and Zaria. Siblings: James Baker Jr. (Tanya)N.H., Peggy Adams (Bob) N.H. and Michael Baker (Chanantorn) N.H. And a host of nieces, nephews and friends. 

    Those who had the pleasure of knowing Cindy knew how much she loved her family and friends. She truly was a one of a kind and made a lasting impression on anyone who was blessed to cross her path. She enjoyed helping others, raising her children, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching Food Network, Washington Football Team/ New England Patriots, TikTok, Yahtzee, Basketball, Boxing ( Evander Holyfield), dancing and music.

      Cindy’s family wishes to acknowledge the many comforting messages, cards, tributes, prayers, and many other expressions of kindness shown to our family during this difficult time. We greatly appreciate and thank you for all your support. Memorial services will be on Wednesday June 8, 2022 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road Clinton, Md. 20735.
