Clarence Ray Forsht "Dutch" (Age 82)On Tuesday, January 27, 2004, of Dunkirk, Maryland; formerly of Temple Hills, Maryland, died of congestive heart failure. Dutch was the beloved husband of 60 years to Jewel A. Forsht and loving father of Dennis Ray Forsht and wife, DeAnna, Lynda Russell, Kenneth W. Forsht and wife Linda and David W. Forsht and wife Karen. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and siblings Dorothy Powell, Betty Jane Herrell, Donald and Samuel Forsht. Dutch was born in Altoona, PA on April 9, 1921. His family relocated to the Piscataway and Clinton, Maryland areas where he attended and graduated from Surrattsville High School in Clinton, Maryland. After graduation, Dutch enlishted in the Navy where he was assigned on the USS Alabama on its Maiden Voyage during World War II and then returned to service during the Korean War. After the war, Dutch became a metallurgy research technician at the Naval Research Lab in Washington, D.C. He retired in 1980 after 38 dedicated years.Dutch and Jewel relocated to Sarasota, Florida after retirement. He enjoyed walking daily and having family visit throughout the year. His family was most important to him, especially his most recent grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Family will receive friends at the Lee Funeral Home Calvert, P.A., 8125 Southern Maryland Blvd. (Route 4 & Fowler Road) Owings, Maryland on Sunday, February 1st from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. where a service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
