Darla Ann Sneade, 66, passed away peacefully at Calvert Health Medical Center on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, after a courageous battle for nearly two years with pancreatic cancer. Darla was born in Baltimore, MD on September 27, 1952 to Leroy and Ann (LeBrun) Krieger. She graduated from Dundalk High School. Darla worked for the State of Maryland as a Director of Child Support Enforcement. In retirement, she worked at World Gym in Owings and later as a real estate appraiser for Banner Williams. Darla is survived by her partner of 27 years, Joseph Hooker, and siblings, Darlene McKee (Mark), Gary Krieger, and Debbie Patterson, all of Dundalk, as well as Karen Burns, Keith Hooker, and Kelly Hooker. She had several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, James "Jimmy" Douglas. Although Darla did not have children of her own, she enjoyed being with children and sharing adventures with them. Darla was a great friend to everyone she knew. She was generous, fun, funny, non-judgmental, and kind. She was interested in participating with just about everything that involved other people. She loved traveling, but also enjoyed returning to her home on the river. She enjoyed tennis, pickleball, jet skiing, and just about any activity she could do with her friends. Darla loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved people. Darla volunteered her time and energy for causes she believed in: Calvert Hospice Festival of Trees, Relay for Life, Walk to End Alzheimers and Race for the Cure. Her mottos were “Life is a journey and only you hold the map,” and “Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much.” Darla with be greatly missed by all of those who have been sharing that journey alongside of her, living, laughing, and loving.
