Darnecia Mention

Darnecia L. Mention formally of Forestville, Maryland transitioned into her new home on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Darnecia is the beloved daughter of David Mention and the late Betty Mention. Darnecia was born on September 3, 1970 in Washington, DC, becoming the baby of the siblings. Darnecia attended Suitland High school in Suitland, Maryland. At a young age Darnecia began working, she began her retail career at the age of 19 and worked her way up to becoming a Retail Manager and accumulating 31 years in the business. Darnecia was a loving person who loved to be around her nieces and nephews. Any chance she could get she had them by her side whether it was taking them away for the weekends or keeping them when asked. Most of the time you could find her teasing her friends and family and being the jokester that kept everyone laughing. Darnecia also enjoyed to watch movies, listen to music, and of course to go SHOPPING! Most of all she enjoyed spending good quality time with her sisters. Darnecia is survived by her loving father David Mention; her siblings, Beverly (Paul) Minor, Candace (William) Clark, and Duane (Tina) Thomas; her nieces/nephews, Melanie, Matthew, Lindsay, Joshua, Duane Jr., and Durrell; great nieces/nephew, Madison, McKenna, and Dominic; and a host of other loving family and friends.
