Darrell Ray Hensley

Darrell Ray Hensley, son of the late William Townsel and Mary Hazel Hensley passed away after a long battle with multiple health issues. Darrell was born on May 10, 1938 in Kentucky and grew up in Bartley, McDowell County, West Virginia. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 – 1960. He retired from the Prince Georges County School System with 35 plus years of service. He was an active member of the ODD Fellows Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved Blue Grass music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Earl Hensley,II: two brothers, Billy Joe Hensley and Kenneth Earl Hensley. He is survived by his son, Danny Hensley, his daughters, Darla Bullard, Donna Eckert and Drema Hensley; one step daughter , Carol Albany, his wife Laura Hensley, grandsons Scott Ragione, Jr, John Darrell (JD) Hannabass, Justin Hannabass and Darrell Hensley, Two granddaughters, Jennifer Logan and Shannon Collins, one great grandson Danny A. Hensley and one great granddaughter Alaina Hannabass. One brother, Ellis Hensley and four sisters, MadelineLarson, Phyllis Kenn, Rosemary Beange and Brenda Oliver. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, his special friend and companion Julie Wolz and long-time friends the Echard family and Tommy Wilson.
