David C. Kempel 1927 - 2014 David C. Kempel, 87, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on June 29, 2014 at Northside Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL. Born in Stow, OH he was a son of the late Clarence C. and Emma (Rohner) Kempel. He was married to the late Teresa A. (Padden) Kempel. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served at Pearl Harbor in World War II. He worked for the State Department. During his twenty three year career he traveled and lived all over the world. After retiring in 1974 he began a second career as a pharmaceutical buyer for A.A.R.P. for twenty years retiring in 1994. He was very active in the catholic church as a member and volunteer. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, starting the Council at Holy Family in Florida. He was a past Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator-4th Degree, District Deputy, and Bible Chairman for the state of Florida. He was also active in numerous other charitable organizations. He is survived by three children, Stephen J. Kempel, Kathleen A. Beder (Gus), and Kevin A. Kempel (Alexa), two grandchildren, Nathan and Katina A. Kempel, and a great grandson, Ashton Kempel.
