David Wayne Sanford, died in his home on August 11. He was 62 years old. He was born in Washington, D.C. on May 22, 1955 and raised on Allies Rd in Morningside, MD, where he lived most of his life. He worked in the sheet metal industry until disabilities prevented his career. He loved staying active within his community, helping his mother, friends, and neighbors with yard work and side jobs. David had the biggest and most caring heart, he always thought of others before himself. He had an astronomical love for music, especially the classic rock greats he grew up with. He enjoyed collecting vinyl records and loved to sit and reminisce with stories from his good 'ol days. If you seen him around, more than likely he was wearing a colorful, wild shirt with Frank Zappa or Jimi Hendrix. David had a sense of humor like no other. He had fun making others laugh with his off the wall sense of humor and his silly faces. He especially loved showing his child like side with his grandchildren, who adored him just as his daughters did growing up. There are many photos capturing the love David shared and left behind with them. Survivors include his mother, Ruth Lambert; daughters, Jennifer Bower, Lisa Sanford, and Michelle Sanford; seven grandchildren, Hayden, Sean, Ariana, Camden, Levi, Briella, and Elijah; siblings, Janet Hemming, Margie Crowl, Linda Sandoval, Ray Sanford, and Judy Hill. David's kind soul will be missed greatly and will live on through his family, friends, and community. "If I leave you it doesn't mean I love you any less, keep me in your heart for a while." ~Warren Zevon
