David Snyder

David Snyder, of Temple Hills, MD died on April 25, 2016 at the age of 50. Born in Clinton, MD at Andrew Air Force Base Hospital, David was raised in West Virginia. He was a graduate of Hampshire High School Class of 1984 in Romney, W. VA. After high school, David joined the US ARMY, where he served until his Honorable Discharge in 1992. He was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Expert Marksmanship Rifle Badge. During his term with the US ARMY, David discovered his interest in Business Administration which led him to additional leadership courses. He eventually went back to school, graduating from Davis & Elkins College, Class of 2002 with his Bachelor’s in Business Administration. His most recent career was with the Montgomery County Gazette. David cherished his parents and cared for them until their death. He was the epitome of a selfless individual, always giving a hand to others needs. He was kind and always showed extraordinary care and compassion for anyone in need. Dave was very loving and affectionate, and never was ashamed to show his affections for Maria in front of anyone. His favorite saying to Maria was “You are the world to me and I would bring you the stars if I could”. Maria remembers that Dave always treated her like a queen. In 2006, David met Maria and after a year, they started dating. They married on July 18, 2008 and for their honeymoon went on a 13 day Caribbean Cruise. In 2013, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. After surgery and treatment, he was in remission for two years before the cancer came back. David raised and trained cockatiels and had a favorite, “Cindy”. He enjoyed building model airplanes, cooking, going on cruises and spending time with his family. Beloved husband of Maria Snyder of Temple Hills, MD; cherished son of the late Jimmie and Alice Wright; dear son-in-law of Isaac and Julia Luyo of Gaithersburg, MD; brother-in-law of Jose Luyo (Aekyong) of Korea, Teresa Luyo of Beltsville, MD, Isabel Martinez (William) of Hyattsville, MD, Cesar Luyo (Cheryl) of Virginia and Jorge Luyo of Peru.
