David Brian Strickland (50)\nOf Waldorf, MD. David passed away quietly at his home on February 19, 2010 after a lengthy and courageous battle with lung cancer. David was a valued member of Calvert Masonry’s Executive team. Dave spent his career in the masonry trade mastering all aspects of the industry. He concluded his career as Vice President of Field Operations for Calvert Masonry, Inc. of Manassas, VA. He was a true leader; known for his loyalty, fairness and patience. He had a zest for life and all it offered and was always the one with a ready smile even when things were difficult. David was a great friend to many and will be missed by all.\nDavid is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Katie and his father, Joseph Strickland. David was a loving husband to Terri, father to Michael, Jennifer and her husband Loren “Jay” Ollom, as well as a special uncle to his great-niece Hailey, who was his strength and “sunshine” during his battle. He is also survived by a number of family members, including his mother Ruth of Charlotte Hall, MD and brother Wayne of North Carolina.\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of David B. Strickland to the Charles County Hospice P.O. Box 1703 LaPlata, MD 20646 who were a great comfort during the past several weeks. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home, Inc. Branch Ave. and Coventry Way on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. where services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 11:30 am. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
