Deanna Marie Satterthwaite

Deanna M. Satterthwaite “Dee”\n\n Dee, age 67, went into the hands of God on April 11th at 12am surrounded by close family at her home in Fort Washington, Md.\n \n She bravely fought endometrial cancer for 4 years.\n \n A Kansas native, she grew up with 3 siblings, sister Fran and brothers Dennis and Larry. She married at 17 to the first love of her life, John Peter Kelliher or "Pete", who succumbed to skin cancer at age 34. She had 3 beautiful children with Pete; Kathie, Jody and Mike. She overcame this monumental loss with strength and poise. In 1982, she was lucky enough to meet George, the second love of her life and they had a daughter, Kelley. She became a wonderful step mother to Patti, Tony and Frank. She was a loving Nana to 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.\n \n Over her 40 years in the banking business, she was a dedicated branch manager at First National Bank of Southern Maryland, a mortgage lender at First National Bank of Maryland, Washington Federal Savings and Loan Association and the State Department Federal Credit Union, and rose to become the Senior Risk Analyst at the National Institutes of Health Credit Union. She was a valued employee who was loved by her colleagues and customers alike.\n \n Her puppies Alexis and Brandy were two of her more recent loves and brought her such joy and comfort over the last 3 years. She was an excellent baker, as many remember her delicious and addicting cookies and cakes. She enjoyed crocheting blankets and scarves for family and loved ones. As a true marylander, she enjoyed Orioles games at Camden Yards, and eating jumbo crabs and shrimp on the bay.
